In the area of Vrontados, seven (7) kilometers from the city of Chios is Daskalopetra. The area owes its name to the great teacher and poet of antiquity, Homer, where according to tradition taught here.

Daskalopetra is a beach with small and big pebbles, crystal clear waters, near the homonymous picturesque harbor with fishing boats that you can buy fresh fish, taste seafood with ouzo or even have a coffee or a drink, to one of the closest beaches of the island.

At Daskalopetra is the famous stone of Homer. Here, according to tradition, the blind poet and creator of the epic “Iliad” and “Odyssey” used to teach his students playing the lyre with the sea streching out beneath his feet.
